What is Your Point of View?

This title suggests that I am asking your opinion. No, I am asking from what point are you viewing your life and future.

Isaiah 40:31

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with Wings as Eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.

I was born in New Zealand. Therefore the nickname for people born in this country is a Kiwi.

Now a Kiwi is a flightless bird. It is about the size of a chicken. The wings on a Kiwi are useless. It has a long beak and mostly comes out at night. The Kiwi doesn’t get to fly. I think that’s sad for a bird.

Now I maybe called a Kiwi but I would prefer to live like an Eagle.

The Kiwi bird can only see what is happening on the ground. It is in a self absorbed world with one view point.

But an eagle, now that’s a different story. It can fly as far up as 10,000 feet. The view from up there would be amazing.

This point of view allows the eagle to see everything.

It is a bit like us... we become so self absorbed in our world and forget to see the ‘BIG PICTURE’.

In our course we talk about making things ‘bigger’ than they are. We can tend to get stressed over the smallest of things.

These issues end up in our anger tank. They build and then when we have a full anger tank, one small happening will spill our anger over.

We must wait on our God... this is a key before we can fly. Then our view is so much better and we can see things from God’s point of view, not our narrow minded view.

The eagle pairs off with another for life. It guards this exclusive relationship. And so should we. We should guard our relationship with our God.

I read somewhere that an eagle can have small tumours on its body. To rid itself of these tumours it flies up into the atmosphere towards the sun. The tumours drop off and the skin is renewed.

We also, must go towards the Son, look to heaven, to our God, to our healer. Our ‘baggage’ will fall off.

Let’s wait on God, let’s empty our anger tank, let us SOAR with freedom and not be pulled into our self absorbed world.

As we wait on Jesus, what does He say? He renews our strength. We will run and not be weary, walk and not faint.

  1. When things get tough and we feel venerable or weak, HE renews our strength.
  2. You can’t be an eagle and not have strength... it takes strength to fly and soar.
  3. We shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint.

So therefore let us wait on God and let us run the good race that is set before us.

Hebrews 12:1

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
