What would a world without evil look like?

Genesis 1:26 then God said. “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

Genesis 1:31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.

God had created the Earth with very good thing in it. Man is made in His likeness which is good as He is good, with no faults or weaknesses, perfect in every way.

We were not designed to suffer sickness, war, anxieties, pain, grief, sorrow, loss, addictions, worry, hard labour, abuse, physical handicaps, pests, diseases, hunger, poverty, dysfunction, loneliness, lies, lack of purpose, rejection, lust, distrust, jealousy, anger, shame, guilt, envy, mental illness, negativity or lack of any kind.

We were never designed to cope with evil.

We were designed to live in and of a life of goodness.

We were designed to live a life without death.

We were designed to live a life in a relationship with our Creator.

We were designed to live a life in perfect relationship
with one another.

But… we live in a world of evil. We are living at the wrong address. We are bound by death of the body and separation from our Creator.

No amount of retaliatory action or appeasement on our part can fix the overwhelming influence of evil.

In the perfect garden there was no need for Forgiveness, Mercy or Grace. The garden was a place of perfect relationship. The perfection of love flowed and was designed to multiply the perfect creation which is the expression of the perfect God who designed and made it. He made this not by compulsion but by choice. The nature of love is to express its self, from the heights to the depths from the east to the west of eternity.

God’s creation was complete lacking nothing.

The risk for God was, by its very nature, love will always be a choice. Love requires trust. Trust is not an emotion it is a choice.

The responsibility given to man was dominion over God’s creation, a job requiring complete trust in his creator. God’s plan was to run the earth in partnership with man… relationship.

Man was not deceived in the garden, his mistake was to distrust his Creator.

So… how do we live at this wrong address? What weapons do we use against evil?

Forgiveness, Mercy and Grace.

Forgiveness deals with the wrongs.

Mercy gives correction and understanding.

Grace offers undeserved acceptance.

God himself hung on a cross to make the way for man to change his address to the one originally prepared for him.

John 3:16

'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.'

Acceptance – God so loved the world (us).

Value – that He gave His only begotten Son (himself)

Purpose – but have everlasting life

(be who we are designed to be living at the right address forever)

2 Cor 10:4

'For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds'.
